Basque waist, bubble hem, and a vision she never compromised on.
Bespoke, timeless, and iconic. Talia came in with a vision and she knew exactly what it was.
Talia always knew. A basque waist, something with an old-world elevated romance. Living in London, she searched on both sides of the world but never quite found it. She arrived at our Sydney Atelier with her mum and grandparents in tow, including her grandfather who wouldn’t be able to make it to the wedding, and walked into what would be the last boutique she visited. “The vibe in the shop just felt different. They were so open to customising and redesigning to exactly how I wanted it.” It was the one.
Drawing inspiration from her grandmother’s dress, her gown is personal without being obvious about it. She finished the look with gloves, a quietly iconic touch. The bubble hem was a unique detail our team brought to life for the first time. “It felt light. It was so easy to dance in. I felt stunning.”
From the very first appointment the experience was seamless. Danika was there from the moment Talia walked through the door, attentive and genuinely curious about her vision. Ilona, who crafted the gown, was incredible. “A lot of places didn’t ask questions. Here, they really wanted to understand what I had always dreamed of. Ilona was so open to ideas and exploring things she hadn’t done before. She was amazing.”
On the day, one moment stopped her completely. Seeing her husband for the first time after a week apart. Looking back at the photos now? “I’m obsessed. I love it so much.” While many of her friends have sold their dresses, Talia can’t imagine letting hers go. She’d even have it dyed just to wear it again.
Her advice for brides just beginning their journey? “Just go in. You will find it, and they will create it for you.”
