Yasmin & Alex – A Stylish Country Wedding

As far as stylish weddings & brides go, we think Yasmin’s recent wedding in rural NSW is one of the best.

From the beautiful family property as the perfect backdrop, to the incredible sunset and images captured by Lucie Weddings. The wedding looked plucked from the pages of Vogue. Yasmin was a dream to work with creating her unique custom couture gown. She knew exactly the look she wanted and when she tried on our Pia gown, it was the obvious choice. Adding in her own unique touches to make it elegant and sophisticated. Yasmin paired her Pia gown with our double layer veil which we hand stitched onto the most stunning headpiece by Jane Taylor Millinery.

All my dreams came true! I knew exactly what I wanted and the girls at Moira Hughes helped me pull my vision together. It really was the most perfect dress to wear all day and to dance all night in. We had ideal October weather and the sleeves of my silk crepe dress kept me nice and cool in the hot afternoon sun but also kept me warm as the temperature dropped at night.

I would say the best part of the day was when our band (who were incredible) decided to play The Horses by Daryl Braithwaite mid entrée and everybody got up from their seats and started spinning there napkins around in the air. In the moment Alec and I were so worried people weren’t going to sit back down for the remaining dinner service but now we look back and think WOW – the atmosphere was electric!

We had always known of each other whilst at school but it wasn’t till after we had finished that our worlds collided at a country race meeting in Trangie NSW – I was 17, Alec 18 and we have been together ever since!

I wouldn’t call it a wedding planner but The Event Store Company here in Scone helped to source everything and pull it all together. Alec and I wanted to try and keep all our wedding suppliers/ vendors as local as possible.

Go with the flow, don’t stress the small stuff and keep things simple – everything will turn out the way it is meant too!

We got married at my husband’s family property in the Upper Hunter Valley – Belltrees. It is the most magical place that means so much to Alec, given that the farm has been in the family for over 8 generations. We were so grateful to be able to get married there and one day hope to raise a family of our own at Belltrees.
