Our current charity is ‘Women for Women International’ supporting families in war-torn countries start businesses, learn skills and build themselves a better life. They also provide education to children and doctors visits to those in need.
At Moira Hughes we recognise the impact fashion has on the planet and we are committed to continuously reducing our environmental impact.
By creating each piece individually in our Sydney Flagship store, we greatly minimise waste and can ensure a safe and collaborative working environment. All paper and cardboard are recycled. Larger fabric off-cuts are donated to Fashion schools and the smaller ones are donated to animal shelters and repurposed into pet toys.
We make regular trips and check-ins to the extension of our workroom in India.
As a family run business, they maintain high working standards and have their own recycling initiatives.
In addition to these efforts, we will occasionally hold sample sales and offer brides an eco and budget friendly option to purchase a pre-loved or sample dress.
We recognise the importance of protecting our planet and will be making increased sustainability choices wherever possible.
