Real Bride: Lara and Michael's Perfect Rainy Wedding Day

Lara and Michael tied the knot at the picturesque Moby Dick’s at Whale Beach. The relentless wet weather did little to dampen their special day. Lara and Michael snubbed tradition by spending time together before the ceremony, making for some perfect moments between themselves and their wedding party. The official celebrations began with an intimate ceremony on the premise, before the newlyweds moved to a beautifully styled sit down reception. See the best moments of the day as captured by Lara Hotz.

Lara wore Moira Hughes Couture ‘Marella’ gown in blush.

Our Favourite Florists in Sydney (and beyond)

We've done the leg work for you when it comes it picking blooms for your Big Day. Here is a definitive list of our favourite florists in Sydney, and beyond.

There is no shortage of talented florists these days - Which can make your decision even tougher. You'll notice that each florist has their own style. Keep this in mind when making your decision. For example, if you're after simple blooms for a minimalistic wedding, don't book a florist who is known for their bright bold arrangements, and vice versa.

1. Kinded Floral, Paddington Sydney

Based in the affluent east, Kindred champions the unconstructed, whimsical arrangement. Owner Jess was previously an accessories designer in the fashion industry, so you can rest assured knowing that your bouquet and your dress will be perfectly paired.

2. Floral and Mineral, Byron Bay QLD

Floral and Mineral are a collection of (very talented) self taught florists. "A little foraged, a little wild, a little romantic" is their motto and it really is the best description of their work. The use of raw trimmings, natural textures and imperfect finishes is prefect for the stylish, relaxed bride.

3. Hermetica Flowers, Darlinghurst, Sydney

Floral chameleons, Hermetic create arrangements from white and whimsical to bold and structured. Well versed in extra-large scale floral installations, if you are looking for more than your traditional bouquets, pins and table scapes, Hermetica could be the florist for you.

4. My Violet, Redfern Sydney

Stylish, seasonal and undeniably on trend, its no surprise My Violet was the florist picked by fashion blogger Nicole Warne (@garypeppergirl) for her recent nuptials.

5. Signature Floral Design, Perth WA

Many of Signature Florals Designs look as if they've been picked straight from the garden - in the best way. These arrangements are fun, unique and beautifully effortless. Founder Annaliese has over 20 years experience in the floristry and works with each bride to create an entirely bespoke arrangement.
